JOB SUMMARY
This position will report to the manufacturing organization and will be responsible for building and testing of products in an FDA regulated environment.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring that all manufacturing operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a strong commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork within a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, detail oriented, and will be willing to take on multiple roles/tasks in a fast-paced startup environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Perform tasks involved in the fabrication, manufacture, assembly, testing and packaging of medical devices.
- Responsible for maintaining build records and following procedures.
- Building and testing of capital equipment and optical assemblies.
- Follow procedures for testing and aligning optical assemblies.
- Following test procedures for capital equipment.
- Providing feedback on existing procedures and processes to improve quality and or throughput.
- Assist engineering in continuous improvement and new product introduction including support of new product design, process development, and process validations.
- Track, monitor and communicate status of work orders in progress.
- Troubleshoot and identify potential solutions for mechanical errors, safety issues or general operating inefficiencies within the production processes.
- Safely follow standard operating procedures including but not limited to material handling and record keeping.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
- College degree or technical coursework preferred.
- Experience working in an FDA or ISO13485 regulated manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with operating machinery and tools is a plus.
- Optical assembly experience is preferred.
- Past laser and or medical device experience is a plus.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Excellent attention to detail, good organization and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing processes.
- Able to work in a team environment with cross functional teams to troubleshoot issues, identify and implement corrective actions.
- Must be self-motivated and work with minimum supervision.
- Able to utilize computers to support material inventory management, document test data, and generate reports.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to multitask and perform a variety of functions.
- Ability to exert light physical effort which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
